Time to pause

Taking a few to pause and focus on something I’d like to grow into this summer. That being said I don’t have time to learn and do those things and keep up with a new book and review. I am planning on coming back to reading and reviews but that won’t be till around the fall season.  Thank you for those who have kindly taken the time to read what reviews I have so far. Till next time , God bless!         RBCCS CRNR

Review #2. Braverly

Image
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️        The book Braverly is written by author Maggie Stiefvater. I pulled just a bit of info on her from Amazon where I bought the book. “ Maggie Stiefvater is the New York Times bestselling author of the Shiver trilogy, the Raven Cycle, and The Scorpio Races, among dozens of other YA fantasy novels. Her books have sold over five million copies around the world.”     A brief description of the book. This engaging story takes place some years after the movie so everyone is slightly older. However if you haven’t seen the movie, you won’t be missing anything.  Merida is told that DunBroch has grown stagnant and has only one year to change things before the Kingdom is brought to ruin. She goes on three adventurous journeys with different members of her family. On this journey, she learns what has been, what is, and what may be in both her family, and the kingdom.        As a fan of Brave and Scotland, but not someone who...

Audiobook Review #1

Sherlock Holmes rediscovered railway mysteries. Four original short stories by John Taylor and narrated by Benedict Cumberbatch. The entire audiobook is only 2 hours and 4 minutes. I am a big Sherlock fan. I have read, listened, and watched many different versions of Sherlock, it gets hard to keep them straight, but I've enjoyed them all.  Of course, not all have the same feel of the characters as the original Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's Sherlock Holmes.          I did enjoy the first story in the audiobook. The story is intriguing, but it didn't give me a real Sherlock feel. It does build better as it continues so if you find yourself, unsure as it begins, I would, say keep listening. All four stories were very enjoyable. All in all, the author did a wonderful job at bringing back to life the intricate, and adventurous lives of Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson. The narrating of the very talented Benedict Cumberbatch is perfect and br...

Let’s Talk Books !

I have been thinking about getting back to reading again.  I have a decent list of books and audiobooks that I have yet to read and many more I want to buy. Thought it would be fun to read and listen to what I have and give my personal review on them. Now I am a picky book reader but do keep in mind that I am not a professional book critic just someone trying to motivate myself to read more and share with others.   I will be starting with a book featuring one of my favorite fictional characters, Sherlock Holmes. I will try to Post once a month depending on the book.  . On audiobook Sherlock Holmes’ Rediscovered Railway Mysteries. Four original short stories by John Taylor and narrated by Benedict Cumberbatch             I am excited to get started on this and have many books to go through including some I have already read years ago.  It’s always fun to go back and reread an old favorite.  I am a slow...

Let's Dream

Let's dream. I often feel like I dream too big or unrealistic. So here are my big dreams. They may or may not happen and that is okay. I will continue to take steps both big and small. I know that if it is to be then God will open the door in His time.     My first dream is to start a new blog. obviously that one has just begun. I did have a blog about fourteen years ago. It is my hope to share love and encouragement in the Lord with others. That being said I will not bend and twist the word of God to make the world feel better. I definitely don't know everything, and I don't have it all together, but if we're all honest no one does. Take it one day at a time and do the best you can. step by step, and little by little.      I am currently considering taking some writing courses online. I have some story ideas just not sure where to start. Doing my own illustrations is also on my list. I used to enjoy drawing and painting; however, I have foun...
